A Demat (dematerialised) account holds your shares and securities in electronic form, so you can buy, sell and hold investments safely without physical certificates.
You need your PAN card, Aadhaar (linked with your mobile number), bank account details (cancelled cheque or statement), a signature photo, and income proof if you want to trade in F&O.
Enter your mobile number above, verify it with an OTP, complete the digital KYC steps (PAN, Aadhaar via DigiLocker, bank details), do a quick video verification and eSign. The whole process is online and takes about 10 minutes.
Any resident Indian aged 18 or above with a valid PAN and Aadhaar can open a Demat account. NRIs can also open accounts subject to additional documentation.
